New Book Outlines Process For Texas’ Peaceful Exit From United States

Dallas, TX — Texit: Why and How Texas Will Leave the Union is the provocative new book from Daniel Miller, president of the Texas Nationalist Movement.
Texit is the first thoroughly researched, nonfiction book to delve into the motivations, process and practicality of a peaceful, modern-day Texas exit from the United States. Channeling his 20 years of experience on the issue, Miller takes readers through the historical and cultural foundations for a potential “Texit” and shares its impact on mainstream politics. He also plainly enumerates the grievances expressed by many Texans who support an independent Texas, while also disputing some of the most common arguments against Texit.

Ultimately, Miller describes a clear path showing how Texit could become a reality, with a glimpse into what Texas could look like in the aftermath of an exit from the union. Though Texas-focused, Texit brings the concept of secession to a universal audience.

Daniel Miller is president of the Texas Nationalist Movement and has been an outspoken advocate for Texas independence since 1996. As the head of one of the largest and most influential political organizations in Texas, Miller has extensively researched and engaged the issue of self-determination, not just for Texas, but as part of a growing global trend.

He has been featured on every major news network and been interviewed by every major newspaper in Texas and around the world. A featured guest on Fox News, CNN, CNBC, BBC News, RT-TV and many other news outlets, Miller has been a vocal proponent of a fundamental reexamination of the relationship between all states in the Federal union.

Miller’s first book, Line in the Sand (2011), addresses the roots of Texas Nationalism and the practical implications of national self-identity for Texans. Taken from years of experience, Line in the Sand has become a primer in the fundamentals of Texas Nationalism.

Miller, a sixth generation Texan, was born and raised in northeast Texas and currently resides in southeast Texas with his wife, Cara. Both avid Texas music fans, Daniel and Cara operate Radio Free Texas, one of the first online outlets for independent music created in Texas.

Conroe, TX  — How much of your state history can you recall? Were those the lessons you tuned out in elementary school? Maybe if history weren’t so boring, you think to yourself.

With Mighty Big and Super Great: Texas is the “Lone Star State”!, author Amber Manning aims to change things up for today’s grade-school children. Her engaging book uses rhymes, storytelling and fun facts to keep youngsters both engrossed and entertained.

As a native Texan and mother of three, Manning set out to write a children’s book that would help students from kindergarten through grade 5 retain a sense of Texas history, something parents themselves may be hard pressed to do. She’s done just that in a two-part book that first makes use of a rhyming narrative and witty story to engage readers with historical facts and the introduction of state symbols. Then, in part two of the book, she mixes 28 fun facts about the Lone Star State with more of the Texas story and also includes the Texas Pledge and the state song.

Throughout, the book’s illustrations are spot-on in portraying the history the author seeks to convey. “It’s an upbeat, rhythmic Texas history lesson,” says Manning. “It adds some extra excitement for children who bore easily.” A Texas A&M associate stated that she believed “the book would be a useful addition to both English and history curricula.”
Manning, whose full-time job is executive assistant to the CEO of her employer, writes children’s books in her spare time.

How One Man's Lifelong Dream And Perseverance Got Him On Letterman

New York, NY, November 16, 2011 - "Knowing what you're dying to do tells you what you are living for." - Steve Mazan

Background for dying to do Letterman: turning someday into today (HCI Books-- $14.95). A very special book which grew out of his award-winning documentary film by the same name, here is everything you need to know about Steve, the book, and the film:

Steve Mazan was a funny kid with a big dream. From the time he was 12 years old, he wanted to become a comedian for one reason, and one reason only: to perform stand-up comedy on David Letterman's show. Like all eager comics, he hustled for work in small clubs across the country, taking any gig he could earn. The pay was crummy, the progress miniscule, and some of the jobs ridiculous (like performing comedy at a minor league baseball game without a working microphone!) But Steve continued hoping that "someday" his dream might come true.

If Laughter Is The Best Remedy Then Watching ‘Crowd Control’ Will Be Like Taking A Vacation!

Manhattan Beach, CA, December 13, 2012 – For fifteen years Cash Levy has entertained sold-out comedy clubs throughout the country and appeared many times on Comedy Central, Fox, NBC, and CBS’s The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, to name a few. He has performed for our troops around the world to rave reviews, and can be heard daily on Sirius XM Radio. Regarded as one of the top improvisers in the industry, when everyone in Hollywood told Cash that improvisation was not something TV would ever broadcast – he set out to prove them wrong.

Cash’s success story earned him a one-hour comedy special called ‘Crowd Control’ that airs December 20th on AXS.tv at 11:00 pm Eastern. In deciding to shoot his own special, Cash not only took an enormous financial risk by using his own money, but a huge career risk in delivering his stand-up, ‘off the cuff’ routine to a sold-out theater with seven cameras rolling (no pressure there!). Yet against the odds, Cash Levy lived The American Dream and produced his own TV show!

Baggage At A Wedding Doesn’t Always Refer To What’s In The Suitcases

Los Angeles, CA, July 30, 2012 - Perfect for anyone planning a summer wedding, Eat Drink and Be Married (iUniverse) by Rebecca Bloom will resonate with every woman who has ever attended a destination wedding of a friend, only to realize that when best friends come together they bring waaaaay more than ugly bridesmaid dresses in their baggage!

Funny, fast-paced and realistic, Eat, Drink and Be Married puts readers in the middle of college girlfriends who are attending their former roommate’s wedding in Lake Tahoe. While these best friends rehash old times, they discover they are each hiding a piece of themselves from one another.

As the flaws in their own relationships surface, it takes a bottle of booze, a mountain of laughs, a bucket of tears, and three days in the company of those who know and love them the most to force each one to step out of their normally-organized lives to come to terms with their past before walking down the aisle. Hilarious, candid and tender, Bloom’s rich dialogue grabs the reader’s attention from the very first page and holds them to the unforgettable end.
